About Us:
The McKinnon Basketball Association (MBA) is a leading community basketball organisation, known for its large domestic competitions, elite VJBL and Big V teams, and development programmes. We are dedicated to growing grassroots basketball and enhancing engagement within our community.
Position Overview:
The Digital Media Coordinator will be responsible for producing and managing engaging, on-brand content across all digital platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Working closely with the General Manager, this role will play a key part in amplifying the MBA’s online presence and ensuring alignment with the association’s strategic marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Design and produce high-quality digital content using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) for social media, websites, and email campaigns.
Ensure all content is visually appealing, on-brand, and engages the MBA community.
Social Media Management:
Manage and grow the association's presence on social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Plan, schedule, and post content using social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later).
Engage with followers, respond to comments, and monitor social media trends.
Website and Email Management:
Manage and maintain the MBA website, ensuring it is up-to-date and user-friendly.
Design and distribute email newsletters and campaigns using email management software (e.g., Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor).
Write and format blog posts, captions, and other content that align with the association's goals.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments to develop content that promotes key events, programmes, and initiatives.
Support marketing campaigns and drive digital traffic for key initiatives such as tournaments and community events.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in content creation and graphic design using Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Proficiency in social media management (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), including scheduling and content optimisation tools.
Experience in website management and design.
Strong knowledge of email marketing software and email design (Mailchimp, mailerlite, Campaign Monitor, or similar).
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling blog posts, captions, and emails.
A passion for community engagement and growing grassroots sport, particularly basketball.
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with community-based sports organisations.
Familiarity with the McKinnon Basketball Association and its programmes is a plus.
